Dr. Elizabeth Vainder is a board certified pediatrician, caring for infants and children in South Florida for over 20 years. Dr. Vainder grew up in Miami in a Cuban family. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She attended the University of Miami, graduating in 1993, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology. Dr. Vainder went on to medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 1993 and graduated in 1997. She completed a residency in Pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Holtz Children’s Hospital in 2000. For 6 years she worked in a public health clinic operated by the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital caring for patients with no insurance or medicaid. In 2007, she joined Pediatric Associates, and provided private pediatric care for newborns, children, adolescents and young adults for 14 years. Practicing pediatrics in South Florida has allowed Dr. Vainder to care for children from all over the world.
During the pandemic, Dr. Vainder spent substantial time providing telehealth to patients. She quickly realized how helpful this efficient, effective and underutilized resource was for busy and worried parents. The ability to see patients at home and provide guidance and care when needed through the use of technology was the bridge that was missing in pediatrics.
